The Franklin Bulls are excited to welcome home Australian/Kiwi centre Ellis Biggar for the Sal's NBL 2026 season. This marks Biggar's first stint with the Bulls and his debut in New the SalsNBL.
Biggar, a 6'10" (208 cm) centre known for his rebounding and defensive presence, joins the Bulls following a developmental role with the South East Melbourne Pheonix.
"We're excited to have Ellis on board," said Franklin Bulls GM Jamie Reddish. "His size and work ethic will be a game-changer for us in the paint, and we look forward to seeing him integrate with our squad as we push for a strong 2026 campaign."
Head Coach Dan Ryan, who has spent time with Biggar, was keen for him to come to New Zealand, the day he accepted the Head Coach job. "Ellis brings incredible energy and enthusiasm to everything he does. I’ve gotten to spend a season with him at South East Melbourne, and his dedication has already led to tangible improvements in his game. Ellis is an athletic forward with a great motor, and our fans at Franklin are going to love watching him play."

Biggar transitioned to the Australian NBL as a training player with the South East Melbourne Phoenix before earning a development player contract for the NBL26 season in August 2025.
Ellis was born in Auckland but has made Australia home, but is able to play as a local, allowing the Bulls to deepen the squad with three imports.
His size will anchor the defence for the Bulls and protect the paint against other quality bigs in the SalsNBL.
