ARE YOU NEXT?
As part of our Academy program the Franklin Bulls offer pathways to aspiring NBL Athletes. These opportunities are primarily targeting players from South Auckland, Franklin, Thames Valley, Waikato and Waikato Country. However through our Mission we also offer spaces to players outside these areas.

Our Academy is an invite only program with athletes in this program put on a pathway towards one day playing for the Franklin Bulls in the SalsNBL. Our programs are based on ability not age. Athletes will be invited to off-season exposure camps to be classified by our coaching staff and put on a development track.
Who is the Academy for?
Our academy is for elite level athletes (Girls and Boys) wanting to one day play in NBL leagues.
What Age?
Age is only a guide. Our academy levels are based on ability and invites are extended to athletes who meet the criteria.
Is this for everyone?
No. Athletes can join the program as long as they are invited. Athletes can take part in trials, exposure camps to be evaluate by our coaches, which could result in an invitation to join the Academy.
When does the academy run?
From November 2025, the academy runs three days per week and offers athletes both time on court in self-directed training or coached sessions.
Is there a cost?
As our academy is directing connected to our Bulls NBL programs, all (NBL) contracted athletes train as part of the NBL programs so there is no cost to them. But they are required to support the club's wider programs. For invited athlete's who aren't contracted a small charge for resources will apply.
Can you explain your divisions?
The Bulls Academy offers pathways into the following programs
1. SalsNBL - This is the elite mens division
2. Rapid league - This is our Elite development team
3. Academy U20 - This is facilitated by the Bulls and Franklin Basketball in partnership
4. We work along side Pukekohe High School and Franklin basketball to provide elite pathways for athletes in other age groups.
