Franklin Bulls Announce Sign NBA G-League Guard for 2026 SalsNBL Season

The Franklin Bulls are thrilled to announce the addition of American guard Derrin Boyd to the roster for the 2026 Sal's NBL season. Boyd, a strong skilled scorer comes to Pukekohe from the NBA G -League, playing with the College Park Skyhawks in Georgia. Derrin will be one the key offensive weapons for the Bulls this season.

Boyd, 25, hails from Kentucky. His journey in basketball began at Caldwell County High School in Princeton, KY, where he starred as a standout guard. Boyd's collegiate career spanned five seasons. He started at Georgetown College (NAIA) in Kentucky, where he redshirted his freshman year (2019-20) before making an immediate impact, earning Mid-South Conference (MSC) Freshman of the Year honors and First Team All-MSC recognition. He started in 22 of 24 games, contributing to a 16-8 team record.
In 2022, Boyd transferred to Lipscomb University (NCAA Division I) in Nashville, Tennessee. During the 2022-23 season, he appeared in all 33 games, starting most of them, and averaged 10.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists.
Boyd transferred to the College of Charleston for his final collegiate season in 2024-25. As a senior guard for the Cougars in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA), he started 30 of 31 games, averaging 13.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 31.7 minutes per contest.
He was selected 38th overall (7th pick of the second round) in the 2025 NBA G League Draft by the Santa Cruz Warriors. He later joined the College Park Skyhawks, where he currently plays.

Derrin will join the team once the G-League concludes.
