Kelso to suit up for year 3 with the Bulls

The Franklin Bulls are thrilled to announce the re-signing of local standout Harry Kelso for the upcoming 2026 Sal's National Basketball League (NBL) season.

The 6'5" guard, a product of the Franklin basketball community, returns to bolster the Bulls' roster as they prepare to charge into the new campaign.


Kelso has been a key part of the Bulls' development pathway since making his SalsNBL debut last season at age 17. After impressing in his rookie appearances and continuing his growth through local rep programs and secondary school competition with Pukekohe High School, Kelso earned international recognition as a member of the New Zealand U17 Junior Tall Blacks. Last season, he helped the JTBs team achieve historic success by winning Gold at the FIBA U17 Oceania Cup in Samoa, where New Zealand claimed their first-ever title in the event with a dominant 82-62 victory over Australia in the final.


A Franklin Basketball representative player, Kelso has come through the ranks from an early age playing for local club, Waiau Pa, Clarks Beach Basketball. His athleticism, scoring ability, and defensive potential—honed further through his Oceania Cup experience—add valuable depth to the Bulls' backcourt as the team builds on recent seasons and targets another strong showing in New Zealand's premier basketball competition.


“I’ve coached Harry since U13s. He’s been a consistent part of our development pathways and I am excited to watch him take the next step towards his NBL goals this season” Says GM Jamie Reddish.

Kelso, along with fellow 2025 Bulls team mate Hunter Savill, leaves for Germany next week to play in a invitation Junior Tall Blacks team at the Albert Schweitzer U18 tournament. One of the most recognised competitions on the global basketball calendar and is held every two years. This is only the 4th New Zealand team to be invited to the prestigious competition which has run for over 60 years.


He will be reunited with former Bulls assistant Joe Reddish, who is meet this Junior Tall Blacks U18s in Germany and will assistant coach the squad.
