Davidson back to celebrate 5 seasons with the Franklin Bulls

The Franklin Bulls will celebrate 5 years in the SalsNBL in 2024, a massive milestone for the club. It wouldn't be a celebration if the team didn't bring back the Franklin Bulls favourite son, our first ever signing to suit up and play and a guy that has been with us through thick and thin. Through challenges and successes.

Welcome back for 2024, our guy, Isaac “Iceman” Davidson.

Last season Isaac helped the Bulls achieve the club’s best record 12-6 and earning the club’s first ever semi-final berth.

Isaac’s performance on 2023 earnt him a professional job in Finland with the Nilan Bisons in the Korisliga. Averaging 14 points on 37% shooting from three and nearly 5 rebounds and 4 assists as a starter.

Davidson signed with the Bulls as an amateur in 2020 after finishing a successful college career at Sonoma State University. However the first season for the Bulls was cancelled due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. Fortunately the league managed to restart in a bubble called the "Showdown" and that's where Davidson would put on a show and stamp his mark on the SalsNBL.

Fast forward to today and the Bulls get to celebrate 5 years, resigning the “Iceman”.

“It was imperative that we go into year five with Isaac. He's been a constant for us, improved every year and now has become a key element of our tough and gritty defense, says co-founder Jamie Reddish

Davidson played 50 games for the club last season, the first player to do so.

Bulls Co-founder Scott Kelso says this signing will matter a lot to the fans

“Our fans have seen Isaac grow and he's become a fan favourite. He’s quiet, he's cool and he's great guy. No fuss. He's become known for his sniper skills in the last few years. We are looking forward to the next evolution of "Ice" as a leader in 2024.”

Bulls Headcoach Sebastian Gleim is very familiar with Davidson and for him this signing was a no brainer..

“Isaac is a very versatile player who has made good steps year by year. He is able to play multiple positions. Now he is playing for the first time in Europe, a great experience for him and something we will support in the future.

More important than any skill is the fact that he has played more than 50 games for the Franklin Bulls and he has commited to continue to be part of the team 2024.”

Fans turned out in record numbers to witness the team achieve the best record last season, with Davidson leading the troops to a semi.

"We are expecting to break all records for attendance this year, especially with a potential finals series played at the "Stockyard. Can you imagine that! And we get to do it all with Isaac and celebrate 5 years together. It's going to be a great season." adds Reddish
