Yet another Hawkes Bay Hawk has put pen to paper to play for the Franklin Bulls in SalsNBL season 2024. Jordan Hunt, the 6'9 forward who spent the past 3 seasons with the Hawks, has decided to head north and play for new Bulls Head Coach Sebastian Gleim.

Hunt has spent the past few months in the United Kingdom playing in the BBL for the Surrey Scorchers, currently averaging 9 points, 4 rebounds and 1 block in 19 mins of game time.

Last season the Hawks narrowly missed out on a semi-final berth, with Hunt crucial for the Hawks in their playoff push averaging 11 points, 5 rebounds and 1 block per game in 23mins on the court.

Head Coach Gleim says Hunt completes a line up of bigs for the Bulls 2024 campaign "Jordan Hunt is a very smart player with good experiences in our league. He played with Ethan and will complete our flexible big man rotation. I can't wait for Jordan to join the team once he completes his time in the UK."

For the Bulls, adding a player of Hunt's experience and talent is a real privilege for the club. "We are celebrating 5 years in the SalsNBL and having Jordan in the squad illustrates real interest in our program. He's a Wellington boy and him signing with us is a big deal. " Says Bulls Co-Founder, Jamie Reddish

For Bulls fans adding another Tall Black in Hunt, rounds out a talented roster of big men who will be an exciting watch at Bulls games during the season.

"Jordan is an exciting player and one we know fans will come to love over the coming season. He's always been a great, loyal competitor for the Hawks and we look forward to building a strong future with Jordan as part of our squad" Adds co-founder Scott Kelso.

Hunt will arrive at the end of the BBL season and expected to join the team in April.
