Corey Webster has had a glittering basketball career on the court over the past decade plus, always proudly representing New Zealand and his hometown Auckland. And now, for the first time since 2016, Corey will play in the Sal’s NBL for an Auckland-based franchise.

 

Currently playing for Al Ittihad in the Egyptian Basketball League, basketball has taken Webster all over the world. New Zealand fans will know him most for his time with the New Zealand Breakers which include 3 Australian NBL Championships and an All-NBL Second Team selection in 2016.

 

Previously Webster has played for Wellington Saints where he has won 3 Sal’s NBL Championships, 2 Sal’s NBL MVP titles, 2 Sal’s NBL All Star Five selections, and a scoring title. Webster debuted in the Sal’s NBL in 2009 playing two seasons for his hometown North Harbour Heat after dominating the New Zealand junior scene in the 2000s with North Harbour and Westlake Boys High School. 

 

Webster has had a 14 year Tall Black career after debuting in 2008 and most recently was one of the leading scorers in the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
